A beautiful spot between Cathedral Cove and Ha Hei beach. Coromandel Peninsula.

Westhaven Marina is one of many scattered across Auckland, the City of Sails.

Ha Hei Beach on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula is only about 2 hours drive from Auckland.

The Inter-Islander, carries passengers and vehicles between the two Islands to and from Wellington. Here she is positioning herself to anchor in Picton harbor on the north end of the South Island. Sailing time between Wellington and Picton is about 3 hours.

Cape Maria van Diemen on the north tip of New Zealand adjacent to Cape Reinga. Here the Tasman Sea and Pacific Ocean meet in a spectacular display of opposing sea currents, rips and swells.

“Kids on Canon”. Fabulous view of Rangitoto island or Rangi for short. This dormant volcanic island mount is probably the most recognised landmark in Auckland. It is also incorporated in the logo of the Blues Super 12 colors.

Sunset over “the Noises”. Two small islands in the Hauraki gulf off Auckland. The boatie has overstayed his fishing time and now still has to cross about 25 km of water in the dark across Auckland busy shipping lane to get home on the North Shore.

Muriwai on the West Coast near Auckland is famous for its black volcanic sand beaches and a gannet colony. The gannets migrate north but faithfully return every summer to nest and breed here.
